A harsh Muslim father who had been earlier jailed for raping a schoolgirl attacked his daughter & her secret boyfriend with a hammer after he caught them having sex.
The court heard
that Ali was woken up at 5am
by noises coming from the bedroom & opened the door to find her &
lover James Martin
The restaurant manager
took hold of a hammer & hit Martin over
the head then punched & kicked his daughter Fathema before dragging her out
of her bedroom by the hair disregarding pleas from her family to stop.
In a statement to
police, Fathema alledged she was forced into living 2 lives, one for her strict
Islamic father at home & another outside the house.
In mitigation, his
solicitor Isobel Thomas Ali misses
his family & is sorry for his behavior.
