Nigerian Workers Give FG September 20 Ultimatum

Minister of Labour & Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, & the Association of Senior Servants of Nigeria have agreed to for the time being put off their strike notice until September 20, 2017.



Ngige, in a statement Tuesday night by the Deputy Director, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Mr. Samuel Olowookere, said this is to allow the Nigerian government commence the payment of pending promotion arrears.

"It also agreed the office of the Accountant General of the Federation should also provide the list of the 30 MDAs in reference to the office of the Minister of Labour & Employment by September 13, 2017.".


Ngige said the conciliation meeting further set up a 7-man committee to be chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Labour, with 3 members each drawn from the government negotiating team & the labour association in that order to oversee the implementation of the decisions.
