A total of 5 delegates to the second national council meeting of the Niger Delta, holding in Igbokoda, in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo have died in an auto crash.

The auto crash which occurred at Ode - Aye along Ore - Okitipupa road also left 4 other delegates seriously injured.

The delegates, whose identities have not been disclosed yet, were travelling from Akure to Igbokoda for the summit which Vice President, Yemi Osibajo was to chair.

He said efforts were on by the state government & the Police to give the injured victims proper attention.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo who’ll be in Akure for the Niger Delta meeting will later proceed to Igbokoda for a meeting with stakeholders of the riverine communities.
