A nanny is facing charges of attempted murder after she was purportedly filmed brutally throwing a baby into a cot.

Mum Annemarie Theron set up a hidden camera after she observed bruises on her 9-month-old daughter Laila's neck, shoulders & under her feet.

Video captured at her home in Namibia seems to show the family's nanny manhandling the baby, tossing her into her cot like a rag doll.

Distressed mum Annemarie told Netwerk24 :"It was very emotional watching it.

Annemarie, reservations & marketing manager at a lodge in Namibia, & her husband Johan told police & the nanny was arrested on Friday.

She appeared in court on Monday to face charges of child abuse, assault & attempted murder.

In a post on Facebook, Annemarie apologized to her infant daughter & thanked well-wishers for their support.
